This weekend, the global fighting game community is focusing its attention on the heartland of America for Combo Breaker 2023 (CB2023), a key stop in this year’s Tekken World Tour (TWT). The competition is taking place from May 26th to 28th at the Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Now in its seventh edition, Combo Breaker continues to serve as a cornerstone of the fighting game scene. The event boasts more than 24 main events, along with a wide array of community tournaments held throughout the weekend.
Adding to the excitement of Combo Breaker 2023, there is a buzz in the community about a potential reveal related to Tekken 8. Speculation is running high about what this could mean for the future of the franchise. Fans and players alike are eager to see if this could be the introduction of a new character, bringing a fresh dynamic to the game’s celebrated roster. A Stacked Field
Tekken 7 is sure to be a standout, with a field of 690 entrants ready to fight it out for the top spot. The player list reads like a who’s who of Tekken talent from around the world.
Representing the USA, players such as Anakin, SonicFox, Shadow20z, GenghisD0n, Cuddle_core, Rip, Joey Fury, KingReyJr, WayGamble, Rick_Tha_Rular, Fear Of Silence, Jesandy, Kaizur, ty, PhiDX, yoj99, Shinblade, Komanda, Landon D, Azure, Jermanji, M-Hendo, Trojan, LtrainLocomotive, Mazen, Brandini, and Dr. InconsiderateRaccoon are set to make a splash.
Meanwhile, international talents are making their presence known. From Japan, players PINYA and chikurin are aiming high. Italy has sent formidable contenders Ghirlanda and Danielmado. Arslan Ash and Malik Ash represent Pakistan’s vibrant Tekken scene.
Germany’s representatives include Sephiblack and HK Jr., while AyoRichie is holding it down for the UK. Saudi Arabia’s Raef, Dominican Republic’s Bbaez, and Peru’s NeNe The Dragon represent their respective countries.
South Korea’s Tekken powerhouse has a robust delegation, including Rangchu, kkokkoma, Knee, Chanel, and Infested. Book from Thailand and BoosterBlast from Canada also feature in the mix.

Prize Pool and TWT Points
A prize pool of $11,900 USD is up for grabs, along with valuable TWT points. The winner will walk away with $4,998 and 400 points. The runner-up receives $2,856 and 300 points, while the third-place finisher secures $1,666 and 220 points. The fourth-place participant will earn $952 and 150 points. Players finishing between 5th and 8th place will also receive a cash prize and TWT points.
With so much at stake, the Combo Breaker 2023 is set to deliver a thrilling display of the world’s best Tekken play.
