Everything there is to know so far about Noctis Lucis Caelum coming to TEKKEN 7 on March 20th

All there is not know about Noctis Lucis Caelum in TEKKEN 7!

It was announced earlier today on the Alternative Time Report x TEKKEN 7 Collaboration Special that Noctis Lucis Caelum from Final Fantasy XV will officially be joining the TEKKEN 7 roster on Tuesday, March 20th, which also happens to be the first day of Spring. He will be available on PlayStation 4, XBox One and Steam/PC.

Just about everything you’d want to know about Noctis was revealed during this special broadcast. You can check out the official trailer and hi-res images here, but as far as details, here’s a quick breakdown of what was shared.

Character Select Screen

Looking to play Noctis? You’ll find him on the top right of the Character Select Screen. Also, selecting his stage is as simple as just pressing up once.

Rage Art and Rage Drive

Unlike Geese Howard, Noctis’ Rage Art and Rage Drive are very simple to perform. Check out these easy inputs. This may be also be a clue as to how simple his movelist may be. Being that he is from the RPG game genre, any newcovers he attracts to TEKKEN 7 may need someone very easy to use. Though his movelist wasn’t shared on stream, we expect Noctis to be simple in execution, highly combative, and with moves so easily effective that they frustrate opponents.

Noctis’ Character Build

Noctis is very tall. He is head and shoulders above Lars. It will be interesting to see how he measures up to tall characters like Miguel and Geese.

Hammerhead Stage

Noctis’ stage is called Hammerhead. It has no “walls” or floor breaks, but it is square with a fence that serves as bounding box. One very cool thing about it is that as the rounds progress, the stage transitions from day to night.

Noctis wields multiple weapons

Throughout the gameplay you could see that Noctis makes use of a wide variety of weapons. Frpm what we could see, he has the following:

  • Long sword
  • Dual Daggers
  • Dual swords
  • Broad sword / Hammer Sword
  • Spear
  • Hammerhead staff
  • Double-bladed shield

Many of the animations were too fast to capture clearly, but here are just a few. Be sure to watch the broadcast archive and see if you can find the above weapons.

Noctis owns long range! Teleport?

Move over Akuma, Geese, and Eliza ! There is another character in town that will probably own you when it comes to long range. Noctis can quickly throw his sword (and from a very far distance) and and optionally follow it up with a teleport. Take that Master Raven! It appears that many of his weapons have quite a bit of range to them too, so you better watch out!

Noctis for the win!

So far, there are two win poses that we know of for Noctis. He has one where he poses exactly like Yoshimitsu, and then there is one of him “gone fishing,” where his sword transforms and fishing rod as he walks off into the distance.

Customizing Noctis

When it comes to customizing Mr. Ceram, there aren’t that many options. Perhaps this was part of the agreement with the developers of Final Fantasy XV, where Noctis will always look like Noctis in the wild (on the internet). At any rate, he still looks great with some very fashionable costume options. His hair color can be changed as well, but not the style of it. Again, Noctis must always look like Noctis. Also, as of the build that was demonstrated, Noctis does not have any character panel art to select from.

Bowling with Noctis

Lastly, Noctis and his buddies are also included in Ultimate TEKKEN Bowl.

That’s it! Noctis will be joining your next battle on March 20th, so get ready!
