Just moments ago Hoa ‘Anakin’ Luu announced on Twitch that he will be parting ways with esports organization Circa eSports. Anakin signed with Circa eSports exactly a year ago today on May 14, 2016, and was their first official Tekken player.

Reaching to Anakin for any remarks related to his departure he stated the following:

“I’m just really happy the team gave the Tekken scene a chance, and I’m proud of what we accomplished.”

We also reached out to Brandon ‘Tuboware’ Brockman, FGC Manager for Circa eSports, for comment.

“Anakin helped build Circa’s reputation as a strong competitive team in the FGC and he will be sorely missed. We were happy to have him on Circa, and we know he will do great things in the future. We hope for the best in his future endeavors and expect nothing but great things to come his way.”

Anakin is arguably one of the top two players in North America. While representing Circa eSports he won several Tekken Tour tournaments, including multiple Wizard World events, Combo Breaker, and CEO. He also placed 2nd at the North America Tekken 7 2016 Finals, and was a participant in the 2016 King of the Iron Fist Tournament in Japan.

Probably the biggest storyline of his tenure with Circa is that he dared to forfeit his qualifying spot during the Tekken Tour on several occasions. Each time he did he would win it back immediately by taking first place. Unheard of.

Anakin was also strategic in getting his ATL hometown friend Stephen ‘Speedkicks’ Stafford signed with with the organization for a measure of time.

What’s the next organization for Anakin, and why did he decide not to renew his contract with Circa? We don’t know for sure (we have an idea), but we should hear something soon. Tekken 7 comes out June 2nd and esports is going to be a major force for the game. We should hear of an acquisition very soon.

For a player of Anakin’s caliber one thing we are certain of is that the future is very bright. We look forward to what’s in store.

Anakin has changed his twitter handle from @CircaAnakin to @TK_Anakin.

His first experience with Tekken was in the early 90's, and it was Tekken 3 that sealed the deal. True story... As a teenager Zee once received his Winn-Dixie paycheck and spent it all at the arcade the same day. Needless to say, his mother wasn't pleased.
