Does Anna Williams really need to return for Tekken 7?

As we’re getting closer to the release of Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, more details on the game are being released. We already have a generous sized roster, including a mixture of old and new characters, however, as more are being announced, we start to notice the gaping holes that only former characters could possibly fill, one of which is Anna Williams.

Anna debuted in the first Tekken game and has since returned for every major installment, bar Tekken 4 (her absence felt weird). She acts as the primary antagonist for older sister Nina Williams, and the feud between the two reached all new heights after the death of their father, as both of them blamed each other for the incident. Since the announcement of Nina’s return, fans have eagerly awaited news of the return of Anna as the sisters go hand in hand (not literally of course). The two are almost always featured in each other’s endings, be that in a hostile setting or where we see them team up, and their ongoing love-hate relationship is an element of Tekken which many people find enjoyable.

There seems to be a high demand for Anna with fans taking to twitter to display their hope of her inclusion in the next installment. If characters such as Bob can join the roster, then why shouldn’t Anna?

The sibling rivalry between the Williams sisters is one of the more interesting and compelling story-lines from the saga and is received well by fans of the game. Anna has become a staple character in the series, and if she isn’t included in Tekken 7 it’ll definitely feel as if something is missing from the game. With Nina’s story looking to take an interesting turn with her being dressed in wedding attire, who isn’t half expecting Anna to be culprit behind Nina’s destroyed wedding dress?!

With Tokyo Game Show just around the corner, hopefully we’ll get the announcement of Anna’s return sooner rather than later. What are your thoughts on this; do you want to see Anna return?
